"Terroirs" is the album recording from an innovative live, hybrid performance that brought together the unique creative energies of two boundary-pushing experimental music ensembles - Bell Dreams and ContaQt. Featuring all-new collaborative compositions written specifically for this event, the performance seamlessly blended the in-person musicianship of Bell Dreams, who were physically present on stage at PAVED Arts in Saskatoon, with the virtual contributions of the ContaQt members performing remotely from locations across Ontario, British Columbia, and the United States. The result was a captivating, cross-continental musical dialogue that explored the possibilities of live, interconnected performance in the digital age - all while the real-time audio/video feed allowed the distant ContaQt musicians to interact and synchronize with their onstage counterparts in real-time.
